Main objective:
Conducting scientific research on the study and rational use of groundwater resources and reserves to ensure a guaranteed supply of high-quality drinking water to the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Services provided:
- Forecasting changes in groundwater resources and reserves of the Republic of Uzbekistan according to various scenarios of surface water withdrawal and usage;
- Assessing the current state of underground drinking water deposits, taking into account the intensification of human impact and the conditions for groundwater deposit formation;
- Searching for new promising areas of locally accumulating fresh groundwater (in fissures, groundwater lenses, and gallery-type deposits) and evaluating the possibility of their use;
- Developing well-founded proposals for the rational and integrated use of water resources, considering changes in water management conditions;
- Substantiating the most effective types of groundwater use (well-type and gallery-type);
- Identifying sources that negatively impact groundwater deposits, studying the process of their occurrence, and developing recommendations for their elimination and impact reduction;
- Developing an optimal monitoring network for groundwater conditions in the context of fresh groundwater deposits;
- Substantiating the rational use of groundwater for drinking needs and justifying the possibility of its use for technical water supply and irrigation;
- Justifying the possibility of comprehensive and rational use of all waters affecting water circulation in the national economy (wastewater, drainage water, mine water, etc.);
- Substantiating projects and schemes for water intake structures when using water for irrigation in industrial enterprises, settlements, and agriculture.
