HYDROENGO ABOUT

The State Institution "Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology" is the leading research institute in Uzbekistan in the fields of hydrogeology, engineering geology, and geoecology. Over its 65 years of operation, the Institute has implemented more than 800 projects, establishing itself as a highly qualified and reliable partner. The projects cover all regions of Uzbekistan.

The team of specialists at the State Institution "Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology" consists of leading industry experts united by the goal of creating comfortable, safe, and technically advanced projects. Over its 65 years of fruitful activity, the Institute has earned a reputation as a reliable partner and responsible executor.

The institute has 11 laboratories, including laboratories for hydromineral resources, technologies for extraction and rational use of groundwater, groundwater resources and reserves, engineering geodynamics, hydrogeophysics, engineering-geological research in mining operations, hydrogeology and engineering geology of solid mineral deposits, geoecology, geoinformation technologies and innovative developments, ameliorative hydrogeology and groundwater management, and a geo-ecological-chemical laboratory. There are also 11 structural subdivisions, including departments of digital geology, scientific and technical support, marketing and patenting, information and communication technologies, organization of public procurement and material and technical support, economic, special, press service, economics and finance, human resources and professional development, editing and publishing, and control and discipline departments.

Today, the Institute operates in the following main areas:

- search, exploration and assessment of groundwater reserves, protection from depletion and rational use of groundwater, scientific and methodological support of regional hydrogeological studies;

- prevention and forecasting of hazardous geological processes, substantiation of the stability of mining operations at solid mineral deposits and other engineering and technical facilities, as well as maintaining the State Cadastre of Hazardous Geological Processes;

- conducting geoecological research and mapping to assess the current state of the region and improve the ecological situation, identifying and forecasting the evolution of geological environment components under the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors.

- assessment and forecasting of the prospects for using mineral and industrial groundwater for balneological purposes and extracting valuable components for industry;

- ensuring and improving the scientific and technical base of research work that allows for increasing the effectiveness and reliability of results obtained using hydrogeophysical methods, remote sensing, GIS technologies, experimental design work, and mathematical modeling.
