On June 3 of this year, as part of the KOICA-funded grant project "Creating an Integrated Management System for Mineral Resources and Geological Hazards in Uzbekistan," a local seminar on "Raising Awareness of Geological Hazards" was held at the Zhigariston municipal mining and processing facility in the Akhangaran district of the Tashkent region.

During the event, specialists from the Ministry of Mining and Geology, the Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology, the Uzbekhydrogeology State Institution, Uzbekugol JSC, and the Korean organizations KIGAM, KOMIR, SOAM, and ARGONET presented to the local community on current challenges in managing geological hazards, the concept of an integrated management system and its expected benefits, monitoring methods, future plans, and potential practical applications.

The main objective of this seminar is to increase the level of knowledge of the population living in areas at risk of landslides in the field of geological hazards, to inform about existing threats and risks, and to develop knowledge and skills in preventing landslide processes using modern technologies.
