
From February 26 to March 1, 2026, the management and specialists of the State Institution "Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology" were on a business trip to the Surkhandarya Region.
During the trip, a meeting was held with the management of the Omonhona Sanatorium, located in the Baysun District. At the meeting, an educational and outreach presentation was held on the rational use and protection of groundwater in agriculture, water management, tourism, and sanatorium activities. The specialists also answered questions posed by the sanatorium's management in detail. Following the meeting, scientific recommendations for assessing the water quality of the Omonhona healing spring and providing additional water supply were implemented into the sanatorium's operations.
Furthermore, monitoring was conducted at the Olchabulok springs and unnamed springs in the village of Yangi Panjob in the Baysun District, and spring water samples were collected for chemical analysis. In addition, meetings were organized with village residents, where they were given brief information about the chemical composition and healing properties of the spring water and provided detailed answers to their questions.
As part of the business trip, a meeting was also held with the management of the Termiz Zhavokhiri sanatorium, located in the Termez district. A presentation was given on the work carried out as part of the institute's project "Assessing the Potential of Hydromineral Resources in the Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, and Bukhara Regions and Developing Recommendations for Their Effective Use." The specialists also provided detailed explanations of questions posed by the sanatorium's management.
